I had this random cup of rice and thanks to Pinterest & The Navage Patch I was able to put him together pretty quickly!
I got the craft fur & fleece from Joann Fabrics (using a coupon I spent less than $5)! The easiest craft I’ve done so far!!
First I gathered my supplies (using a sock that has been in my mismatched pile for YEARS)!
I filled the sock with rice, tied it off with a rubber band & trimmed the top off.
Next I drew and cut the craft fur with an x-acto knife. I'm glad I found the directions from The Navage Patch so I knew how to cut the material without cutting the fur.
I hot glued the fur around the rice-filled sock, added a bead for the nose & twisted up his mustache. I actually found some beeswax lotion bar I had made years ago that held the mustache in place very well.
Next up was the hat. While I know how to sew, I'm not the best and my machine's tension is messed up. So hot glue came to the rescue. I cut up the fleece, glued it and turned it right side out.
Finally I stuck the hat on the gnome and set him up on the shelf. All in all this project took me longer to type than it took me to make--and that's my kind of project.
