Nooming Through 2020

Riiiiight before COVID-19 came and turned all of our lives upside down, I decided to try Noom. I was filling out my pants a little more than I was comfortable with and decided to pull the trigger. The timing was...maybe the best thing that happened to me.

Being in lockdown and focusing on my health was unavoidable. I don't know if I would have been as successful with the program (or maybe I would have been, but not as quickly) if my "normal" life had continued. I was able to focus on eating when I was hungry, rather than the 25 minutes I was allotted while teaching. I was able to get out and go for a daily walk--something I HAD to do because I was stuck at home with two one-year-olds who were increasingly hard to entertain. There wasn't constant snacks and candy around me like I somehow can ALWAYS seek out at school.

In August, Noom reached out to me and asked if they could feature me on their site. THAT'S WILD!! I had just recently passed 100 days of Noom and was speeding ahead to my goal weight (a weight that was once a laughable dream).

When people ask me what Noom is and how it's different, it's very hard for me to explain. I like that it taught me about myself, and in the end, was less about getting to a weight I was happy with, but more about finding happiness inside myself.

Here's the link to the feature if you're interested in reading it. And if you have more questions about Noom or my experience with it, I'm more than happy to share.
