True Crime Podcasts

I don't know about you guys, but I am LOVING all these true crime podcasts. Clearly, based on my book choice, I love a good mystery, and these podcasts tell stories in a way that make me want to keep listening until there is nothing left to listen to. In the case of the "Serial" type pods, I often wait until the whole season has been released so I can binge listen while I clean or on my commute.

Below are some of my favorite True Crime pods and a little synopsis of each of them. Check them out and let me know how you like them!

This is one of my favorite to listen to. Rather than do a story in a season, they each tell one murder each week.

"Lifelong fans of true crime stories Karen Kilgariff (left) and Georgia Hardstark tell each other their favorite tales of murder and hear hometown crime stories from friends and fans."

If you like true crime and comedy, check it out! And stay sexy and don't get murdered.

Another one of my very favorite True Crime pods. SKS is a story told a little bit at a time. The reporter has a wonderful way to telling stories and is very thorough.

"Host David Ridgen joins victims' family members as they investigate cold cases, tracking down leads, speaking to suspects and searching for answers."

So far there are 6 seasons--they're all amazing. Go check them out. now!

Missing and Murdered is another CBC podcast that is hard to stop listening to. There are two seasons: Missing and Murdered: Who Killed Alberta Williams and Missing and Murdered: Finding Cleo. Both seasons are about missing Indigenous women in Canada.

Another amazing series of stories. The first season focuses on the abduction of Jacob Wetterling. The second season focuses on the case of Curtis Flowers (and thanks to this podcast, after being tried 6 times for the same crime, he was found not guilty).

Ugh. This one was a hard one to listen to, but so good. I think one of my cousins recommended it to me.

"Two barrels, four bodies, and an enigmatic killer. The cold case that changed the way murders will be investigated forever."

Ugh. This is one series that I just can't stop thinking about. For sure one of my cousins recommended this to me and it took me about 36 hours to listen to the whole thing.

"Abby and Libby-2 young girls murdered. Investigators are searching for the killer using their biggest clue: a recording of his voice from one of the victims' phones ordering the girls Down the Hill. Almost 3 years later, it's a mystery that still haunts the small town of Delphi, Indiana while police say the killer may walk among them."

And of course I can't forget the podcast that put all podcasts on the map: Serial. I've listened to Season 1 more times then I care to count. I can't get enough of the story. (Seasons 2 and 3 are not true crime, but they are still good!)

I was listening to MFM the other day and they recommended this podcast. I'm always looking for good true crime podcasts to add to my list and I'm so glad I listened. It took me about 2 days to get through the eight episodes...I would have finished it all in one day, but you know, I had to sleep and go to work.

"A man from North Carolina vows to keep the Flores family on their toes, and accidentally finds a new way to get their backyard searched in the process. If Kristin Smart is dead, where did her body end up? Chris follows a trail left by a lost piece of evidence, and retraces Paul Flores' movements in the years after."

I'm sure I could add about 5 more, but this is a good start to the list. If you have loved any true crime pods that aren't on the list, please let me know!! I hope you check these out and come back to let me know your thoughts on them.
